English is easy. Spanish is not!

Yep. I know that most Spanish people don't agree with this opinion _ a laaaarge number of my students, among them _, but....Being able to speak Spanish or Catalan, are you sure you find English a difficult language? Ok, ok, there's that thing about pronunciation: you never know how to pronounce a word till you listen to it. That's true but: what about our accentuation? Is that what you'd call “easy”? To be honest, you'll have to admit with me that most Spanish people can't put the stress on the words properly....And what can we say about our grammatical gender? How logical is to believe that the floor is “a boy” and the wall is “a girl”? English who try to learn Spanish (or any other romance language) get absolutely lost in that...And I can't blame them for it: it's crazy. Not to talk about our verbal tenses....

We must add to that mess the fact that Spanish is spoken in a lot of different countries, which means the pronunciation and, what's more, the meaning of the same words can incredibly vary from one country to another (even from one village to another!).

That's why I'll say it one and a thousand times: English is easy, Spanish is not!

And, to prove I'm not the only one in the world to believe that, here you have a hilarious song by Inténtalo Carito. Enjoy!
